Best Coaching Software

We make Coachful, one of the products judged here. Every recommendation states its criteria before its pick, and Coachful does not win every category. Read how this is scored, and who pays for it.

How anything gets picked

Most software guides score products out of ten against a weighted matrix. We do not, because the weights are where the dishonesty hides. Change a weight by five per cent and the winner changes, and nobody can audit that from outside.

What we do instead

Criteria come first, and describe you. Every situation page opens with two or three criteria about the reader’s circumstances: how many clients, what you sell, what you can afford, what you actually need working next week. A reader who disagrees can discard the pick immediately, which is the point.

Parts are counted, not rated. A coaching business needs the same 11 parts regardless of the tool. Either a product ships one or you buy it separately. That is a fact about the product, not an opinion about it, and it is what the exploded diagrams show.

Every pick names its own limitation. If a page cannot say where its recommendation falls down, the recommendation has not been thought about properly.

Every pick has an alternative with a named reader. Not a runner-up, but a specific person for whom the alternative is the better answer.

The parts we count

A part marked partial means the product does something in that area but not the whole job: a course platform with basic scheduling attached, for instance. Partial is drawn hatched on the diagrams rather than solid.

What we deliberately do not measure

Design quality. Entirely subjective and we are a competitor. Any judgement we offered would be worthless.

Support quality. We cannot test a competitor’s support honestly, and vendors treat evaluation accounts differently from real ones.

Reliability and uptime. We have no measurement apparatus for this and would not trust a competitor’s own status page as evidence either way.

Anything behind an enterprise sales call. If a capability is not on the public pricing page, it does not appear in these diagrams.

The one structural check

Across 16 situations, our own product does not win the majority. That is the number to watch. A vendor-published guide where the vendor wins everything has told you it is an advert, whatever its stated methodology says.

We publish the win count on the home page so it is checkable rather than claimed.
